It was the homecoming during the holidays. A curious mind was trying to plot a plan for a gateway towards the hometown and was almost ending up with another national park in India as per the bucket list. Certainly, the mind diverted towards the Scotland of the east - Meghalaya.
We never imagined that this plan is going to give us a couple of mesmerizing mornings in between the woods, among the clouds. Meghalaya can't be explained without its own meaning - The Abode of Clouds. Its a magical place where clouds tend to bend over the land and give you a feel of being in the wonderland. Not only clouds, but green & dense meadows, scintillating waterfalls, pristine lakes & rivers, fascinating caves, and petite villages that show true colors of the state also add a unique charm to this place.

Tips for Trip
Meghalaya is hosting the cleanest city of Asia - Mawlynnong. So, cleanliness is what you will observe at the first place. Hence, no litter.
Don't forget to pack your bags with shoes having proper grip. Due to rain, the walking / trekking paths are slippery.
Pack raincoats as well as cloths which can be dried up easily. Or, there is a chance that you will end up with shortage of dry cloths.
Pre-book the transport. There is plenty of options sharing options available on the spot as well. For a change, you can get bikes on rent as well.
Carry your swimming trunks along with swimming goggles if you fancy a swimming along with the fishes in the downhill of waterfalls. Although the water is chilling almost, it is something way too different you will enjoy specifically in this trip.
